Kimberly A. Woodling
Counselor Summary
Hello! I’m Kim!
MSW, LCSW, Practice Owner, CEO
Kimberly Woodling is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who utilizes insight and emotion-oriented approaches to assist patients experiencing various psychological and social challenges. Kim believes that meaningful progress in social, emotional, and behavioral well-being stems from deepened self-awareness. By exploring their full spectrum of emotions—including contradictions, interpersonal dynamics, and defense mechanisms—individuals can uncover the underlying patterns that shape their experiences. She guides her patients beyond surface-level concerns, helping them recognize unmet expectations and break free from unproductive behaviors that leave them feeling stuck and unfulfilled.
Kim views the therapeutic process as a personal “journey” and places a strong emphasis on developing a trusting relationship with her patients. She believes in every person’s ability to live successful, productive and fulfilling lives. Her sessions are laid back, relaxed, and she can assist patients in finding the humor or silver lining in difficult situations. She is passionate about empowering individuals, and helping them rediscover their own strengths and abilities to manage stress and challenges.
Kim has completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and she uses Gottman Method Couples Therapy in her work.
Kim’s earlier professional experiences include providing treatment for adolescents in a partial-hospitalization program, treating adults suffering from severe and persistent mental illness in an out-patient program, developing a psycho-educational program for adolescent females in the juvenile justice system, and teaching clinical helping skills to Master’s level social work students. Additionally, Kim spent 12 years at Lehigh County Office of Children & Youth Services, providing therapeutic and crisis intervention for at-risk youth and families facing abuse, mental illness, addiction, and other challenges. Driven by her passion for family preservation, she helped parents overcome obstacles to raise children more effectively and live healthier, independent lives. She also conducted fire-setter evaluations and served on the Advisory Board for the Juvenile Fire Setters division of the Burn Prevention Foundation.
In January 2016, Kim became the new Owner and C.E.O. of Bethlehem Counseling Associates, along with her (now late) husband Paul. As the company’s visionary, Kim develops creative business strategy, manages company resources, recruits and contracts with new talent who share the company’s core values, and provides company-wide leadership. With the addition of these roles, Kim can only accept new patients on a very limited basis.
Kim joined the Philadelphia chapter of EO (Entrepreneurs’ Organization) in 2024, where she connects with other business owners for growth opportunities, leadership advancement, and the continuous sharing of collective business wisdom through her peers.
