Charlotte Cary-Boothe MPS, ATR, LPC
Counselor Summary
Hello! I’m Charlotte!
Psychodynamic & Art Therapy | BCA
Charlotte is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania and a Registered Art Therapist. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of West of England in Fine Art, then went on to complete a Master’s degree in Creative Art Therapy at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn NY.
Charlotte believes healing and growth emerges from building a trusting and supportive therapeutic relationship within a safe, stress-free environment. Appropriate interventions are generated through the collection of personal history, unique story and objectives. It is a journey undertaken together, through inquiry and compassion to insight and understanding.
Charlotte gained a profound appreciation for the joy which can be found in the simplest of experiences during the 20 year’s experience serving people on the autistic spectrum in a high school Partial Hospitalization setting. Their complex needs, severe behaviors and limited communication skills provided multiple opportunities for developing unique methods for each individual.
She has developed art therapy interventions for an individual with traumatic brain injury and demonstrated the ability of the creative process to restore self-esteem and facilitate self-expression.
Charlotte is now excited to work with individuals in more depth and will apply the principles of behavioral and cognitive analysis combined with her psychotherapeutic approach.
Through her experience in treating issues of depression, anxiety, parenting, relationships, grief and loss, Charlotte understands that these labels can tell only part of the story. Engaging in therapy provides a way of navigating the many inevitable complexities and struggles in life.
Charlotte encourages you to take the first and significant step toward recovery by making an appointment with her or one of the team.
