Carolynn Holmes Search is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania and is Board Certified as a Nationally Certified Counselor. She received her Master of Science degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Neumann University and her Master of Divinity Degree with a concentration in Formative Spirituality from Moravian Theological Seminary. She is also a certified Spiritual Direction Counselor with a Graduate Certificate in Spiritual Direction from Moravian Theological Seminary.

Carolynn’s therapeutic approach is grounded in the belief that each human person has an innate wholeness and the resilience to heal. This is why her approach is client-centered, relational and holistic, encompassing body, mind and spirit. By meeting you where you are in your life, with compassionate psychotherapeutic care and deep listening, she works together with you on your goals and assists you in experiencing improved feelings of well-being and deeper meaning in life.

Her experience and training in several psychotherapeutic modalities, including the Psychodynamic (Insight Oriented) and Mindfulness Based Cognitive approaches, allows her to work with a wide variety of counseling topics, with her specialty areas including: grief and loss, depression, life transitions, anxiety, and relationships.

Carolynn’s background includes inpatient and outpatient psychotherapy with individuals, couples, families and groups. She also has experience as a hospital and hospice chaplain, family therapist, and as a primary addictions counselor. She has worked with persons from many different ethnic, cultural and religious traditions in a variety of clinical settings, deepening her specialty in the integration of counseling psychology and spirituality.
