Kirsten Wolfe is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania. Kirsten received her Bachelor of Arts and Sciences Degree in Psychology with a Minor in Criminal Justice and Concentration in Family, Children and Youth, from Bloomsburg University. Kirsten then went on to receive a Master of Science Degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology with a Concentration in Children and Adolescents, from Chestnut Hill College. Kirsten completed her internship at Concern Counseling services working with young children and adolescents in an outpatient setting. After graduation, Kirsten continued to work for Concern Counseling Services with children, adolescents, adults, and families in their outpatient and BHRS program. Kirsten started providing Family Based Therapy Services, at Valley Youth House, when she saw the need in supporting the whole family as a system. Kirsten’s work in the Family Based program has provided her experience in working with a diverse population focused on building family relationships, parenting skills, and supporting the youth in being successful in their communities, schools, and families.
Kirsten has completed the requirements to practice Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and she utilizes her trauma informed framework to dive deeper into underlying thoughts and feelings. Through her training in family based services, Kirsten has grown to love the Ecosystem Structural Family Therapy (ESFT) Model and has seen a lot of success and growth in high conflict families. Kirsten utilizes skills and techniques from multiple models of therapy such as TF-CBT, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), ESFT, mindfulness, strengths-based, client-centered, and play therapy.
Kirsten’s interests include working with children, adolescents, and adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, anger management, Attention-Deficit hyperactive Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, family and relationship concerns, etc.
Kirsten believes in meeting each individual person where they might be in their growth and development in life, focusing on their strengths and building a strong therapeutic relationship is key to helping them through areas they may be struggling. She feels it is very important to create a safe and calm environment for individuals to feel like they can explore their feelings without judgment. Kirsten encourages and empowers each person to make movement towards client-centered goals and have confidence in reaching them.
