Brian ChilcoteBrian is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Pennsylvania who has worked in a variety of mental and behavioral health treatment settings treating children, adolescents and adults. He also spent five years as a faculty member at Marywood University’s Graduate School of Social Work. He graduated from Bloomsburg University with a Bachelors of Arts Degree and proceeded to attend Rutgers University to earn a Master’s Degree in Social Work with a specialization in Clinical Practice.

Brian uses of variety of therapeutic techniques in his work with individuals, couples and families which include, but are not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy, Structural Family Therapy while incorporating Systems and Transtheoretical models. Brian has developed a special interest in understanding behavioral health challenges through a neuroscience lens. He specializes in treating depression and other mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, transitional age youth and young adults.

Brian has had the privilege of working with many strong, dynamic and brave individuals and families who made a commitment to change their circumstances and improve their lives. Through these experiences he has learned just as much as he has taught. Perhaps the greatest lesson learned is that making positive change requires ego strength. Yet when struggling, we tend to waste our energy on assigning blame, trying to change the past, or assigning negative labels to ourselves. Therefore, therapy can assist in normalizing struggles as a human condition, identifying and internalizing strengths, and facilitating a commitment to skill building and changing behavioral patterns that promote intrapersonal and interpersonal effectiveness.
